Olympic Hockey Shootout Rules

  1. Each team elects 3 different shooters in any desired order.
  2. Starting with the away side, teams alternate turns shooting.
  3. The shooter must begin with the puck at the center of the red-line at half ice.  He must stand in wait behind the puck until a signal is given by the referee.
  4. Once the shooter begins to skate, he may not completely stop or go skate in any degree backwards.
  5. The team with the most goals scored out of 3 shots wins.
  6. If the score remains tied, a sudden-death shootout takes place.
  7. This is a series of best out of 1 rounds.  For a team to win, their shooter must score in the same rally that their goalie blocks the opposing shooter.  If both teams score or miss, the rallies continue.
  8. **NOT SAME AS NHL** After the sudden-death round has entered, either team may elect any player on their roster to take as many shots as wanted.  (The same player can shoot every shoot from here on out for each team)
